Growing up listening to her mother teach hundreds of piano students, Miss Emily loved the sound of children learning to love music. She learned to play the piano at age 5, began playing the violin at age 12, and has been singing since she could talk. Through high school, Emily sang in choirs, played in orchestra, and became confident as a solo singer and enjoyed performing in front of crowds. When she graduated from high school, she began occasionally teaching piano lessons and judging piano festivals for elementary age kids. It was during that time that she found she had a gift for making children feel loved, cared for, and special, especially in their desire to learn and grow musically. After receiving a B.S. in Public Health, working in many different fields, and having her own son, Sam (age 3.5), she has been drawn to music teaching again. She taught a music and movement class for children in Family Housing at CU Boulder for 2 1/2 years and decided preschool music teaching was a perfect fit for her. Miss Emily is excited to share her kindness, warmth, and excitement for music with your child!
