Sandy has been playing and teaching music to children in a variety of forms since she was a teenager. Her Nursing background in Early Childhood Development gives her unique insight when planning musical lessons for her young students.
After a break from Pediatric Nursing to be home with her children, Sandy returned to her first love, sharing music with children. She has been teaching Musicare in the Winston-Salem area for thirteen years. In the summers she is one of the joint producers of the very popular music camp, Oonie Koonie Cha. Her other musical adventures include playing and teaching hammered dulcimer and performing with other musicians whenever the opportunity arises.
Sandy says “I am daily delighted and amazed at how much children absorb through music. Their natural enthusiasm for singing,
moving to music and playing instruments is so much fun to experience. Their excitement is contagious! It keeps me young at heart."
